Where did you get 28hp? The few people I've talked to who did cams made very little improvement.

i have even heard of the skunk2 cams losing power, but i have not seen any real proof to back up this claim, i.e. dyno sheets. Just do a ton of research before you decide to go for it

I wouldn't say that. I'm into the body building sort of thing. You just have to get the right product for yourself. Plus they only work if YOU put in the effort. Anys, back on track, I have not heard of cams making anywhere close to 28hp on an NA s2k.

That skunk graph includes other mods as well.

No cams on this car have been proven to work.

You can get the cam gears and make a little power if and only if you have full engine tuning capability including timing (VAFC alone won't do).

With the amount of R&D I am sure went into the head on this car just like on every other decent honda, I doubt you will see that gain with just cams.

In order to make more power with cams, you also have to have more compression because the added lift and duration bleed off dynamic compression by moving the intake closing point further after bottom dead center. Although with everything else there to take advantage of it and if you have the perfect semi mythical intake manifold reversion, that is where the power will be made.

In normal terms though, and 11:1 static motor will bleed down to 10.1:1 (just a number being thrown out there) with stock cams, add in 12 degrees of closing point and you just lost more dynamic compression and now you are down to 9.7:1 compression dynamic.

In order to make the "28whp" that S2 advertises, you would need a decent bump in compression and a damn good engine management. I love S2 products, I have used their valvetrains for years on my other hondas but like I said, they need more than just a set of cams to make that power.
