if u want the oem ap1 spoilers just go out and get some heavy duty 3m double sided tape .. i think its called molding tape. super strong and i have seen people just using that without drilling and having no problems either. just a suggestion for you

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I like the option of using the 3rd brakelight to mount. For the 3M tape, will it damage the paint when it is time to remove?

Nope the 3M tape will come right off and won't hurt your paint. If you do end up using some, be sure to clean the area with alcohol to remove any dirt/wax and such so it will have a good sticking surface. Then just use a blow dryer to heat up the tape before installing and it will make it a lot sticker.

i could be wrong but isnt oem held on my double sided tape?
oem is drilled on and has double sided tape.
I recently installed an authentic OEM AP1 spoiler, and there was no double sided tape mentioned in the instructions. There are four bolts/nuts, and that's it. There is a soft, thin rubber seal/cover on the bottom of the spoiler that seals it against the top of the trunk.

To the OP - I didn't want to drill either (took me a while to get over that), but figured the OEM spoiler is installed by drilling at the factory and dealerships in the exact same spots. That made feel OK with it.

When I got my OEM ap1 spoiler it had the tape on it, it just wasn't sticky anymore since it was used. I ended up just drilling the outside holes only and it held on fine with nothing else. I then switched to a brand new OEM ap2 wing and used the existing holes I already drilled to mount it (thank goodness I didnt do the 2 inside ones on the ap1 spoiler or I would have holes showing), and on the bottom of it there was double stick tape also. I had to peel off the red backing on it before putting it on so all authentic OEM spoilers should have the places to bolt it down, and should have some double stick tape on it also.

asm, bys, veilside, gtmotoring, tamon are some of the popular ones that would work
