Default Does powdercoating block heat at all?

I'm thinking of powder coating my heat shield I have. I am wondering though if powder coating blocks heat or would it pass through the same as barr aluminum?
If not is there anything better to coat the aluminum with?

I know people paint their blocks all the time.

Not sure the effect it has on heat with an aluminum block but cant be too much.

powdercoating insulates heat, anodizing doesn't. Basically it comes down to whats available and what you are trying to accomplish.

Ok cool. Just trying to coat bare aluminum for ztec style engine heat shields. I know aluminum let's heat through easily do want to cover it with something that will insulate or a bad heat conductor. If powder costing works well that might be the best bet as it looks good as well.

Yeah I've seen that. I was at a powder coating place today and they said it might not withstand the heat. I font think the front engine heat shield thing really gets that hot does it? I mean my valve cover prolly gets almost as hot no?

They have high temp powders for powder coating, but even standard powders get up to 500 degrees or so in the curing process.

there is a reason why people powder coat the brake calibers, b/c they can handle the heat and not crack under the heat. but will they block heat? idk.
