Default door replacement

hi there I just bought an 02 s2k and I need to replace the door because I bought it with some damage on it. I just ordered the parts and was hoping someone could walk me thru the process? first time working on cars.

You bought a used door (easiest solution), or a new door skin (requires bodywork skill, not something for first time diy. Can read up on how to for any other car, same process).

If its a used door, hopefully in your color already, you just unbolt old one, and with a helper to hold door, bolt new one on.

Then carefully align it. This requires some skill too. Can read up how to for any other car, same process.

Easy swap. Hardest partis aligning door. Read up on that. Look for a generic door alignment diy. Does not need to be S specific.

Look for a stereo speaker diy for how to remove door panel, to get to mirror.

Put a blanket under door when mounting new one. If you have to put it down, it won't get scratched up.

its pretty simple just time consuming

- remove the door sill
- remove the kick panel pulling straight back
- unplug the door harness
- prop the hood
- remove the front bumper
- remove the passenger headlight
- remove the passenger fender
- pull the wire harness grommet out
- remove the inner door card
- close the door
- remove the 3 lower bolts of the door to the hinge(NOT The HINGE TO BODY.)
- Remove the last bolt and support the front of the door, unlatch the door handle and walk it away, its about 70lbs full

- everything can be relocated to the new door except the 6 yellow flat body grommets(4 for speaker 2 for weather stripping

- when you goto rehang the door, it is simple, latch the rear of the door first, then the top bolt of the top hinge put in place, thread the other 3 in, then use the old paint circles on the top bolt of hindge and bottom bolt of bottkm hinge to pull the door into location, then torque down. Alignment made easy, if you remove the hinge you're in for a world of fun trying to realign.

The rest is reverse
