Alot of people disable the speed sensor signal, and leave the ebrake safety alone. That way, you cannot accidentally raise/lower the top unless there is 1 click on the ebrake.

+1. But sometimes I feel like I need 3 hands when I'm downshifting, turning on the turn signal, opening the garage door, and pulling the hand brake up to the first click.

First mod I ever did to the car! Made it where I had to click the e-brake up one click first.
