Default Dyno charts

Here are three runs that show:

Comptech intake, PLM header, stock cat, stock exhaust, stock ECU

then

Comptech intake, PLM header, Burk 63.5 mm HFC cat, stock exhaust, stock ECU

then

Comptech intake, PLM header, Buerk cat, stock exhaust, Mugen N1 ECU

https://www.s2ki.com/...e-dyno-overlay/

All pulls on 100 octane fuel and on a mustang dyno.

Discuss.

For those that want the cliff notes, I gained about 20 peak hp, and plenty of power elsewhere with the HFC and the N1 ECU.

Necessary to run 100 octane or would 91 suffice?

I think the ECU is tuned for 93, and I only had acess to 100 at the time so that's what I ran.

A few thoughts.

1. Mustang dynos read very low. Actual HP numbers should be higher when comparing to standard Dynojet.
2. Why was the vtec point not brought down on the Mugen ECU? There is SO much midrange torque left on the table there.
3. 100 octane is kind of silly. I doubt you'd gain much of anything over pump 93.
4. I'd like to see what these mods would do on a proper tune (K-pro)

1. Agreed and I think there is about a 5% difference.

2. VTEC engagement is not moved on this ECU. I agree and so does my tuner, that I would benefit from a lower VTEC engagement.

3. I only used 100 b/c it was the only grade above 91 I had access to, besides 93 with Ethenal.

4. Agreed, but I have an 04' so I will never know.

Also, I bet the intake won't do much by its self, as the intake header combo only made 196 Hp. I made 205 Hp on a dyno-jet back in 04', so under the 5% guess I don't think those mods made any power.

I wouldn't run the car to 9,000 rpm, most would be 8,500
