Talking dyno tuned at Carma of Nashville

first of all this is the lowest resulting dyno made according to some research. i reasearched it because Wynn also said that it runs low. 2 s2k's prior to mine pulled 182whp. and the other 173whp. the first was an ap2 and the second was an ap1. this wasnt today. just what he has had in the shop before on a dyno day.

my car is an 04 with the following power adding mods.

*AEM EMS series 2
*okada ignition coils
*NGK iridium plugs
*AEM cai
*SOS big bore throttle body
*Invidia race header
*Invidia 70mm test pipe
*Invidia 70mm dual n1 cat back

ok, first was my baseline with stock EMS
193whp

after a tune on the AEM EMS and Vtec lowered to 5100rpm and redline raised slightly to 8400rpm, this resulted in......drum roll please!!!!

207whp

Did he try lowering VTEC any more? With your mods, I would bet that optimal VTEC engagement would be around 3500 RPMs.

we did try lowering vtech more, how ever my car didnt respond well with it. as far as the dyno chart, were its at now was the smoothest transition.

i would recommend this shop if you didnt want to drive to atlanta GA to get the best tune. these guys specialize in the toyota supra. his pricing was a little higher than i expected. $500 bucks for the installation of the ems, and tune. i got there around 11am and they were done around 330pm. so this guy made more than a $100 an hour on me. and im not even boosted.

^Sounds like a good price if they do good tuning. I'm paying $600 for my tune.

i agree to a point. but this is a (toyota specialist) i dont have the liberty of living back in arizona where AFI or Full Race are located. i feel i may have recieved a better tune if it were done buy someone who is more familiar with the s2000. the fact that he couldnt find the timing light pick up bothered me a little. however after he found the loop, things went smoothly. me not being a tuner, my opinion may only be taken lightly.

the installation consisted of plugging in the ems. nothing else to install. loaded a base map. and began to tune. that is why i chose the series 2, it uses all stock sensors. between him running around and not fully dedicated to tuning my car. he could have easily got it done in 2.5 to 3 hours. instead it took 4 hours. so i paid $500 for maybe 3 hours of legit work? lets break it down. $166 an hour for 3 hours. or $125 an hour for 4 hours. how is that justifiable? i would understand if he had to actually install some censors. or if i was boosted and he had to chase down a gremlin. come on it took him an hour to find the timing pick up. not to say that he isnt a good tuner....because he is. maybe im just crazy but it seems a lot to me.

Those numbers seem very low for the mods you have. I dynoed 206whp (Up from 182whp) with the following:

Skunk2 70mm Megapower exhaust
Invidia 70mm TP
AEM V2 Intake w/pre-filter
Stock ECU
Stock Head
Stock Headgasket
Stock Header
Stock Throttle Body
Stock coils and ignition
Arias Hi-comp pistons 11:8:1
Carrillo H-beam rods (Stock stroke)
Stock crank
Stock displacement (2.0 F20C)
91 octane gas

Did you dyno on the same dyno before?

EDIT: Forgot, 151 tq
