Default eBay lip ):

Lol bought an ap1 oem style lip from baysonr after reading all the good reviews about them.

Shipping was extremely fast but when I got the box at my door and opened it, I was terrified. Everything was bent out of shape and looked nasty. This didn't discourage me though, I manned up and took it straight to my car. Tried to slip it on without any hardware but no luck. Then I jacked up my front end, and took out the bolts under the bumper and attached the lip to it. It all lined up except a few spots.

The passenger side back wall fender side thing of the lip was too short and bent outwards. I then took it off ad heated it up for about 3 minutes over a BBQ grill nearby lol. Pulled, stretched, screamed, and burned my hand (didn't wear gloves lol). Put everything back on and still nothing. So I do this again and again over the course of about 2 hours still no luck. I even tried removing the bumper to see if I can stretch it on better. Still nothing. My dad then comes home and proceeds to help. We use his heat gun this time and accidentally heated it up way too much. We pulled in opposite directions then his thumb accidentally pierces through the lip itself. Really now!? So we give up and put everything back where it belonged (tools).

Moral if the story: becareful of what you buy! Should have used the $50 to buy myself a box of cigars instead ): oh well live and learn.

Isnt there any kind of return policy? I really want one of these lips. Maybe I can work with it with some fiberglass? Anyone know of a good place to get them?

Um wow. I am sorry but the part about the BBQ when there is a heat gun availible. It sounds like you in a rush to get it on the car becuase you were excited. I have done this same thing and it never turns out well. Slow down and do it the smart way don't try to rush. It is didn't fit heating it to the point where is would stretch is a bad idea and would weaken the lip. You should have just put it down and contacted the seller to initiate the return. Now I would be surprised if they took it back since you damaged it so badly.

I bought 2 lips for my civic off ebay and both time it took alittle work to get them on. The best advice I can give for buying any lip off ebay is make sure the seller advertises that they ship it in the right sized box not all twisted up. I can see where that will cause fitment issues even with heat fix. I have done this both times on mine and never had an issue. Good luck and I hope you get at least some money back.

Yea man it's a replica it'll need some help.I bet it would've worked had you used a heat gun and spent time on it....
I got mine from wsa auto or something like that. It's ABS plastic so it'll crack if u smash it but it fit like OEM with only a slight pulling once the front was lined up and bolted on.I paid 32$ shipped now he sells them for 44$ shipped and I'll be getting another since my00 is dumped and killed that lip lol

Can you send me a link? lol I wouldn't mind replacing mine every once in a while, just want it to fit on nicely and doesn't cost too much.

my OEM one arrived from America in a tiny box - the lip was folded into 3
I did a test fit, and it didn't look good, so i left it out in the sun/rain/cold/heat for 2 or 3 days, then tried - bingo - fits perfect.

Should I try to patch it back up and redo it?
Mine came in a big box and it was just twisted haha

urothane needs to be heated and left and it will regain its shape. I just installed a amuse styled ebay lip on my car and it def. took a little work. I started by gently heating the entire piece with a heat gun and letting it set and cool. Then I reheated, attached one end, and slowly formed the piece to the bumper heating and installing the hardware as I went across. Let it set one day, pulled it back off, and it held the shape perfectly. Having it painted and gonna reinstall with 3m tape around the edges to hold it securely. Just take your time and slowly massage it into place and it'll fit. Aftermarket body pieces always take a fair amount of patience to make them fit properly. Your paying for the perfect fit the first time with the high quality stuff, cheap shit requires some work. Mine turned out great though, hope yours does too.
