Hello all,

My birthday is coming up in about a month and I was thinking about asking my significant other to pick me up some springs.

But, and there is always a but! I don't want to degrade the handling of the car. If anything I would hope for an improvement. I am only looking for about an inch drop and I wont be able to get new dampers right away either.

I am hoping that RED MX5 might chime in here as well as he has a set of Eibachs and I value his opinion as he seems to have similar taste in what he wants from a vehicle. But everyone please chime in as your opinion count too!

Eibach Pro-Kit user here. I ran with the OEM struts for 50k miles after installing the springs. The drop is great and feel is comparable to OEM.

You have an '02 so OEM spring rate is 240(fr)/230(rr)

Eibach Pro-Kit Springs = 263/343

Keep in mind the Eibachs were first developed for the early model S2K, which had higher spring rates in the back. The S has been progressively reworked over time to settle the back end down - hence the bigger rates in the front now. To help overcome the "twitchy" tendency of MY00, I run the Euro Alignment specs which added more camber to the back. No issues after that.

^ thanks for the fast reply, And now I have a little more info to go with.

So this means that my rear end will be a little more jittery?

Yes. You'll be running a lot higher spring rate than you are used to.

The ground control sleeves can be custom ordered in whichever rates you want......and are height adjustable. The default rates are identical to your OEM rates. If you went with that your ride would be the same, with the added feature of changeable ride height. Either that or do a mild spring rate change as well.

Im on eibachs as well.... i absolutely love them because it feels very close to stock. From my experience i've had H+R race springs in my previous cars and h+r coilvers, i've been in friends cars that had tein springs aswell. From my 3 experieces so far i like the eibach the most.
