wats up people..need yr help.
want to lower my s2000. cant afford the coilovers right now so thinking of putting the eibach springs. its 25mm front 30mm in the back.
will this be fine? will the lower springs damage the shocks?
its a 2005 model.
thank you for any help.
I used to have this setup temporary in my previous MCB S2K until I got the Teins on, and now I have the same Eibach springs in my new NFR S2K. Here is a picture of it. Click on them to get high resolution.
As for the damage, you might reduce a bit the coilover lifetime but not as much.
I have the Eibachs and think they're great. I was expecting a more harsh or abrupt ride but I've gotta say ride quality, especially over small bumps and road imperfections actually feel better than stock. It's not a severe drop but it really looks nice. It looks like the car should have looked from the factory. Between a 1-2 finger gap and balanced f-r with maybe an ever so slight rake - at least on mine.
I also have eibachs. Just put them on last week actually. I couldn't be happier with the results. The car looks so much better and the ride is great. I drive alot of miles and use my S as a DD, and the eibachs are great. I've had other lowered cars, but with this setup you don't feel like you have downgraded the car by lowering it.
Pro-kit is supposed to be 1" all around though I found the drop in front to be at least 1/8" more than the back vs. stock springs. I got about 15/16" drop up front and about 3/4- 13/16" in back. There is a margin of error using just a tape measure though...and yes, I pre-loaded the suspension and verified spring #'s w/Eibach. Wheel/tire sizes would have an impact on overall gap too I would imagine.
