Emergency Soft Top
Aright guys,
I am tempted to delete my soft top in favour of a hardtop but the main thing that's worrying me is if I decide to go out for a drive (no roof) and it starts to rain I would get wet... as well as the passenger
(either from the rain or the 9k rpm limit badoom tshhh).
Does an emergency top exist? something you could clip on and let you get to cover/hardtop or is it pointless/stupid idea?

aye I saw those in the CR section of the forum, look pretty cool. It's more for driving along really... thinking the forces might be too great to make something that isn't rigid enough...
possible DIY?
The problem with something like that is that there is no way to support the rear section of the top. You need a roll bar, or some sort of attachment that can act as a frame for the "soft top".
I was thinking of going completely top less eventually, don't worry I'm a guy lol... but I was thinking of some kind of tarp setup just in case it did rain but it seems like driving with it would flap around and seem unsafe maybe... maybe I'd just have to wait out the rain... any one try this?

Just unsure how it would work in Britain as the weather is less than predictable! (sun/snow and rain in one day kinda stuff :S)

But why don't you keep the softtop and just put the hardtop on? It's what just about everyone else does, you can still have both.

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. .......................hold on tight this is gonna be crazy......................... Keep the top in there and if this emergency situation arises, raise your crappy top and it will be better than some weird home made contraption. Hell you could even tape up the holes or something.
haha. Kinda don't want to leave my crappy roof on the car though that's the thing... I will have worked my balls off to make the car look brand new then you have a shitty hood. I dunno; guess it's just me
