Exchange center console from AP1 to AP2
Hello fellow enthusiasts,
I have a 2000 AP1 and I am getting really tired of the center console (the one with the cup holder). It it scratched and does not look so nice any more... I really hate the button for the Xenon sprinkler as well. It is soo powerful, if you are parked with the top down and you by accident push that button you bascially get a shower! Hate that...
I really want to exchange it with with one from an AP2. It looks so much nicer.
I want it to look like this:

Now here is the problem... I have contacted my Honda dealer and told them that I want to buy this spare part. But it is not that easy... Since there is only around 20 (!) Honda S2k in Denmark they do not have a lot of experience with this... They really need a spare part number for this center console and they cannot find it since I have a AP1. Does any one know what spare part no is??
Really want to do this exchange...
Thanks for all you help.

Unfortunately the entire center console is made up of several different pieces. You would probably be better off trying to have a used one posted to you. For reference, here is a new console including all the pieces : http://www.hardtopguy.com/store/prod...&cat=26&page=1. I do believe that this seller posts internationally, so if you want a new console or cannot find a used one, this may be your best option.
If you would like to price it locally, the part numbers are as follows:
83420-S2A-A51ZB - CONSOLE SET, CENTER *NH167L*
77232-S2A-A51ZB - CUP HOLDER SET *NH167L*
83402-S2A-J61ZA - ARMREST, CENTER CONSOLE *NH167L*
Good luck

itsnoe30: Thanks man!
rugsr: Well, since the guys at Honda use the actual VIN number it is going to be pretty dificult...
klasmid: Could be an idea...
I am thinking; since the armrest is basically identical from AP1 to AP2, maybe it is possible to reuse that one?

I've done the swap recently.
No, the armrest is totally different; you can't re-use it. The AP1 armrest is larger, but the AP2 sits higher to allow the panel to slide back. The AP1 armrest isn't sold separately, either.
It does just "fit right in".
New, the parts required are over $500US. Used, there is substantial demand and limited supply, so even used models go for almost $300US.
I have a suggestion on your AP1 console, though. The part that's worn is the area around the shifter and buttons, right? Black with silver scratches?? When I had a 2001 model, I took the console out and took it into my kitchen and wet-sanded the area to make it look very close to brushed aluminum; it looked great.

I will check out what a new console set costs here in Denmark.
(Totally off-topic: To all the American guys here: I feel you pain on this day... My girlfriend and I have been watching some documentaries on TV about 911... And we have been watching some live TV from Ground Zero.. We both have tears in our eyes....)
