I was recently looking at some of those same ones and went with HKS Hi-Power Dual with test pipe and I like it. As mentioned above, try to hear some in person before making a purchase.

I've owned a bunch and HKS Dual + Berk 63.5mm test pipe is what you want.
There is minimal drone during normal driving , but sounds good at high RPM, plenty loud.

I always post this part: its a subjective thing. Everyone has a different tolerance for what they like. An exhaust like the Berk 3" single is going to be loud as shit, so the difference between drone and raw volume gets a little lost in the mix.

Go sit in someone's car otherwise you will go "cool , cant wait to install my new exhaust!" "oh shit this sounds way different than i expected"

I have the Skunk 2 Mega Power exhaust with matching test pipe on mine. It is loud at idle, loud at low RPM and normal driving, very loud at WOT and screaming loud at VTEC. It drones constantly. What I am saying here is, I love being obnoxiously loud but I am waiting to get pulled over for it. I've had people tell me they saw me driving and heard me for blocks while they were driving with their windows up. Generally when they tell me this, I know I was driving normal at those times. Given what you are asking for, I would stay far away from the Skunk 2. I have heard the Q300 plenty of times. This is exactly what you are looking for.

Looking for an exhaust too for my ap2. Was considering the q300 but I read that it was designed around a stock s2000 (stock cat/no tp). I don't plan on putting on a TP (HFC at most) so that isn't an issue, but I do plan on going FI/SC in a year or so. There's not much info on the q300 + FI around. I am looking for a dual with a clean tone and little to no drone. Nothing too loud for a DD, pretty much the volume the OP is looking for as well. Does the q300 fit the bill in this case as well?

OP, suprmonky said it perfectly, at the end of the day it is all subjective. And as everyone seems to agree with, try to get a ride with someone. I am not sure that posting you location really interests you, but I am right outside of Philly (KOP area) and if you are close at all, I would be willing to meet up and go for a cruise, let you see what you think. I am sure there are a bunch of others all over the country willing to do the same.

HKS single here too. My favorite exhaust I've ever heard. That's why I bought it.

Listen here.

I think thats your personal taste, and the sound in the video sounds different then when you stand next to the car in person. I really love the sound of the Q300. Its a little louder and deeper then stock when driving normally, and in high rpm it sounds much better then stock.

Here is a drive by of the q300 :
