Many of us are very happy with the Tanabe Medalion Touring dual exhaust. Call it "mature performance" for want of a better term. My Gernby-FlashPro tuned 2006 registered 221bhp at the rear wheels (Mustang dyno) with this exhaust behind a Berk high flow cat and K&N FIPK intake. 93dBA noise level (nosier on cold start). Minimal drone just above idle, none at cruising speeds

But don't take my word for it if you can hear this or any aftermarket exhaust on a similar car. I originally fitted the Invidia Q300 which many here listed as "not too loud" and which required hearing protection on my car. I had to sneak in and out of my neighborhood. Fun for a week. The Medalion Touring gets no comments other than some "thumbs up" from guys who know cars and sounds wonderful especially when VTEC engages at 3600rpm.

If you want to sacrifice flow to keep down the sound levels then Tanabe is a good choice.
It's pretty hard to get both but you might want to look for 70mm systems from Milltek, ASM or T1R, these are relatively quiet without compromising to much flow.
The scavenger exhaust from Urge could probably be a good choice too depending on what kind of mufflers you choose.

Neuspeed duel catback is pretty quiet, my grandfather has it on his ap1 and loves it. I have a Fujitsubo single on mine which is also pretty quite with a stock cat. Now when I put a Invidia test pipe it got louder, but its not raspy and has zero drone.

The Tanabe isn't a chambered system but a straight through design, why would flow be sacrificed?

If you watch Speed Academy on youtube there is an epsiode where they switch from the Tanabe to a 3" Berk and picked up 30whp.
Worth noting is that they went from HFC to no cat at the same time but I don't think that should make more than 5-8whp difference.
So I guess the 60mm diameter and the design of the Tanabe system is just restrictive.
