Default External Side Pipes?

Hey and Yo,

I was wondering if anyone has seen or owns an S with external side pipes that exit behind the front wheels and hang beneath the bottom of the door to end just before the rear wheel?

I think that they would be stunning on an S. I always though that as beautiful as the S is, it is just begging for some matte black external pipes with maybe some matte black heat shields. Or a color that went with the car. Like on a S blue you could have a gold/bronze anodized side pipe with matte black heat sheilds. Has anyone ever seen this mod or have an suggestions as to feasibility? Does anyone know of a manufacturer of something like that. I saw one S on youtube that had the exhaust exit behind the front wheel but no pipes came out. There was just a heat shield there with a hole in it. Sorry but I can't find it now. I think the guy had ITB too.

Do you think something like that could use a high flow cat and be muffled, or would it have to be in addition to a regular exhaust with maybe an electric gate that opened it up.

Any constructive comments will be greatly appreciated.

kinda "cobra-esk"?

never seen anything like it on an S.

ive seen some exit the front rear section of the quarter panel....but not what you are describing.

also, though i will not say really anything is impossible....remember the s2000 is not a true-dual exhaust

True enough, Corba esk, that probably is why I think it would looks so cool, but I never realized it consciously. I guess it would be too weird to have it on only one side. But unlike the cobra I imagine I would want like a long blunt cone shape to go with the way the body flows.

Or maybe something as weird as four elongated velocity stacks poking through the hood on the other side would make it strange enough to carry off the assymetric look. I think there may have been a car that was that back in the days of boat tails and phaetons and such.

lol, idk man...that is all i've got......unless you have the time, money, shop, abilities (resources) then photoshop is your friend

i just wouldnt see the point beyond asethetics to put that notion into reality.....as stated, not being a true-dual exhaust means that the extra side would be dead weight....as it already is, the only difference now is the angle needed to get from one side all the way to the other.....not sure how great the balance of sound would be lol

You would need to raise the car a couple inches to get the piping to clear the under side of the frame, and it would only exit on one side, since we have an inline 4 cylinder.

The guy I bought my turbo manifold had his exhaust ran this way. He was at stock height, with a 3" coming out underneath the passenger fender. The pipe was flattened a little bit, but there seemed to be no reason to raise the car. I wouldnt see this being practical or sounding very pleasing on an n/a car. An exhaust that short sounds pretty insane on a turbo'd car, but then you run into the issue of clearance if you are on aftermarket suspension.

I do but they are on my old phone which is back in the states (on deployment right now). When I get home next month, I can put up pictures of the setup if you guys want. I am not setting up the sidepipe exhuast though, I am going with the inlinepro 3" to calm things down a little. I bought the setup off a guy on here, (CR Steve-O I believe), he might be able to chime in with some pics or send him a pm.

I'm guessing it's more likely inspired by the Viper that he has embroidered on his jacket.
