Default Extreme Dimensions ASM Replica

I know what some of you are going to say but I thought I would take the risk and buy a replica from Extreme Dimensions as the last that I heard of them were positive reviews. Well things change with time, and found I'm not the only individual who has faced this problem with Extreme Dimensions.
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/928...me-dimensions/

I was actually excited to have my replica bumper arrive(we all like new things right?)

Here is what foreshadowed the issues I was about to have (this is after upboxing the bumper)

I am in the Army and had a 24 hour shift (Staff Duty for those who are in the Army) so my landlord signed for the package and did not inspect it as the instructions say on the box. I hate complaining about things so I figured the body shop would have to sand down the bumper anyways so I did not complain about the damage the bumper had. Extreme Dimensions advertises on their website a very durable product that many of you know as "Duraflex" which according to them is a resilient Fiberglass Hybrid. Well the bumper I received was brittle and just Fiberglass and was far from resilient as the cracks in the photos depict. Nevertheless I took the bumper to the best body shop in my area who has previously worked on my car and done an amazing job. They advised me the amount of work it would take to make this bumper fit and the cost I agreed as I really wanted this bumper to work and I hate complaining. Well the next day they called me and told me that this bumper is just defective, and that the amount of work to try to make it fit would be ridiculous.

The vendor on here who I purchased the bumper from has been extremely helpful and has been doing his best to resolve the issue. However Extreme Dimensions advised him that I would have to provide pictures of my front rebar removed and the bumper installed as the pictures that I provided are not sufficient evidence of a defective product.

man that crap isn't even pre-drilled. Sorry you had to learn the hard way, you should try to get a refund for as much as you can and resell it cheap to someone else who can then put more money towards fitting it with a body shop.

yes i agree with ED that the pictures don't adequately show fitment problems, but removing the front crash bar shouldn't be necessary as the real bumper fits over the crash bar just fine.

in for results. I was given one of these bumpers and everything actually fits rather nice. I just didn't want to remove the crash bar. I feel it has to provide some lateral support or rigidity.

I might have to fab a tubular crash bar a little further back and just weld it in

I would want a refund just based off of the condition of the product. Extreme Dimensions sucks and I wouldn't even get change for a dollar from them..

Why would you have to remove the crash bar? It stays in with the ASM and with the Shine.

What a garbage product, I would definitely ask for a refund. Just hope they don't hit with you with a restocking/shipping fee.

i had a Duraflex lip on a differnt car

and it actually held up quite good

i bottom it out quite a few times and it did not fall apart.

i remember this one, i was driving pretty fast and didn't see a huge dip in the road and hit the lip with full force. from the noise, i thought i broke lip and part of the bumper. Pulled over to check and it looked fine, just some paint missing on the bottom. and I have seen other Fiberglass lips shatter, even at low speeds.

but in your case, i would try to get a refund

i have a pair of their js replica fenders. i knew off the bat that they werent going to fit perfect, but the fact that they are less than half the price of the real ones, i accepted that. the fit is not great, but i mainly wanted them so i could run 17x10 +22. im not defending the company but keep in mind its a replica part thats like half the cost of the real thing or even less.

that said i would ask them how they intend for you to fit this bumper on, and if thats not possible then they need to give you a refund. I think i remember on their site it said you may need to remove the crash bar
