Default It feels so different now

I recently did added some mods to my S and all I can say is WOW.. What a difference!!

I replaced the OEM filter w/ a KN drop in and also installed a Test pipe. The engine reponse is night and day compared to before.. Instant response and a bit more Ummmph when you hit the throttle, especially on the hwy and everything other situation..

Only downsides is the odor from the cat being gone, but I can live w/ that i guess for now, and my gas seems to have gotten a bit worse.. But I'll have to gauge that w/ a few more fill ups..

Aside from that, As Mcdonalds would say it, I'M LOVIN IT..!! Just thought I'd share..

How noticable is the smell from the test pipe? Ive been toying around with the idea of getting one, but the smell is keeping me away. Do you smell it when youre stopped, and idling, or when your driving as well?

just idling, but the butt dyno benifits outweigh the smell.. Plus, I used to drive a turbo civic so, it's not new to me.. just not used to it on the S..

You'll get used to the smell, be able to tolerate it, then eventually you'll love it like I do

Does the K&N drop in filter help out? I have also been thinking about the test pipe - is the work something that one can do on their own? I know the test pipes don't cost much but I am wary of the work involved in putting one on. Guess I should check out the DIY section to see if one is up there...

I would think gas would be better as theres less restriction. Youre probably just pushing it a bit more

I also got a K&N drop in and 60mm invidia test pipe. It did smell a little at first but its gotten better over time. I also felt a little better throttle response. My gas mileage is still pretty much the same from before those mods. For the price for these items, its well worth it. Best mods for the buck.

I had those mods too without the test pipe but you should try out the k&N fipk if you wanna hear the full potential of car at WOT. =) Felt like I was driving a v8 at low speeds. Get an exhaust when u get the K&N fipk for later. Have with the new mods!
