Default A Few Mods.

Hello,

Still looking up some previous questions/answers and I decided it would probably just be better to ask someone here, seeing you all are very knowledgeable on the car.

So far I have a mod list of; PLM header, invidia test pipe, RSR GT2 exhaust and a AEM V2 intake. Now in my previous car (03 civic) When I installed my AEM V2 and strut bar, the strut was actually rubbing again the intake, I had to glew a thin piece of rubber to the intake to keep from being completely destroyed.

So with that being said, my questions are:
Will it fit?
Should I buy a strut bar for my S?
If so which brand will actually make a difference?

Also on a side note, being familiar with the civics, there is a lot to do with the motor just to upgrade it a little, such as cams, throttle body, etc.
I'm basically looking for any mod for my motor that doesn't include Turbo or Supercharger.

If this thread has already been posted, or is in the wrong section, I apologize and if so please lock this thread or move it.

Thank you.

Strut bars are typically for looks. Ive never heard of anyone noticing a difference from them on their S.

If you want better handling look towards a front sway bar, they cost about as much as a strut bar (whiteline sway) and in my case I could deffinatly tell the difference.

As far as motor mods/bolt ons. Full exhaust (I/H/TP/E) wont net you much more than 5-10hp, maybe more with a tune. But it will save a lot of weight, potentially.

Dont go broke on an exhaust tho.

strut bars do little to nothing on the s2000. The only function they have is a bit of engine bling and something to lean on when youre checking your oil.

N/A modding usually won't get you much power, you can spend thousands of dollars and only get a couple HP N/A.

Ohhhh, alright well thanks I appreciate it.

So is it true the biggest N/A mods are exhaust/header/intake?

Strut bars do nothing besides looks and something to hold on for the S2000.
As for gaining power with breather mods for this car you will be very disappointed in the results. You can gain maybe 10-15 hp with headerback exhaust and intake but will spend a couple grand to get that. If your not after really making more power but want the mods still I would go for it. But most people spend all the money on exhaust, header, test pipe, intake etc and get maybe 15 hp. If you used the same amount of money you can buy a used supercharger kit unless you are against going fi.
Either way welcome and enjoy. Car is a blast!

Yeah I don't need to be driving a super charged car, I am only 18, that's way to fast for me. I'll be alright with just a few HP gain and a nice sound.

Thanks everyone for the answers.

Ah yeah in that case definitely stick to some simple exhaust mods and such. Definitely makes the car lots more fun!
No point to doing anything like cams or throttle body or anything like that with this car.
Intake header test pipe exhaust with a tune will get you around 20whp with a good tune probably. As long as all are made to work well together that is.

I think this is a serious misconception

With a tune your only going to get around 20whp. Exhaust gains are very small. 20whp with an AEM ems seem to be about right. Of course also has to be proven exhausts and all as well.

I suppose I'm the factory freak netting an SAE corrected 30whp without a header then.
