Default Fitment question

I'm a bit tired of the stock wheels on my ap1 (03) and am looking into Enkei RFP1's. I'd like to go 17in wheels but I need info on a nice looking fitment. I've been told 17x8+45, 17x9+45 is the most "flush" with the body with no need to do fender work but thats from a VW guy haha (no disrespect to VW owners) but is that the best fitment? I'm lowered on NONcut skunk2 springs (saving for coils). Im going to buy the wheels soon but was wondering best fitment for little wheel gap and just clean look.
Thank you in advance.

Wrong section. Read this.

The specs you posted will look good but I would roll your fenders otherwise you could rub or do damage. Read the fitment guide. It's a little conservative but good info.
