Looks interesting, but obviously you would still need some sort of fuel management, pump and injectors.
And if his info is correct, you will probably break alot of drive train components since he claims that it reaches full boost in under a second!

Anyone with a physics degree? Can you calculate how many watts would it take to spin the propeller to ~100k rpm? Somehow i think that all the gains would be eaten by the need to run this thingie. AMG said that their superchargers sap 100kw from the engine...

AMG uses electric? I though they were all roots style.

wow the midrange model uses dual 108amp motors. That would suck a battery dry quite fast! Ive always thought about doing something like this. i could see it working but it leans to more of a nitrous style usage. On only when you want power.

of course. But belt driven SC sap power from the engine. anyway, maybe i'm saying it wrong. What they implied is that if their SC would run from some theoretical external power source, then useful engine output would be about 100kw more

true. So this would almost be like a turbo in that it's not sapping power from motor. And is like nitrous in that you only use it when you need the boost but tuning for that would be a nightmare if you didn't use it everytime you go WOT.

It would be like hydraulics cars, you'll need a trunk full of batteries
