i purchased the one with the little nipple on it. and i also have the adapter. just waiting to install it next oil change.

The one with the adapter integrated wouldn't fit on my 2008. No matter how I oriented it, it would hit the oil pan before it gets even close to tight.

Hmmm, isn't the adapter supposed to prevent it from hitting the oil pan?

From the qwikvalve website: We recommend that you have this adapter because your vehicle highly likely has a recessed oil drain port.

*edit: Hmmm, interesting, I went from 2007 to 2008 and the suggested adapter changed to a longer one. Was there some changes to the engine in 2008?

Buy a real washer. Back when I had one of these, the washer that comes with it is basically cardboard. Mine leaked slowly between the adaptor and the valve because of the crappy washer.

It does take longer to drain but it is less messy. I would not worry about the handle opening itself. I basically skidded off a road and it didn't care.
