What's the point of running water temp when you already have one on the stock cluster?

Because "C" and "H" aren't definitive numbers.

I still think a wideband would be much more usefull to have than a water temp, unless you are having overheating problems. A wideband will greatly help when it comes to bolting on any mods or getting the car tuned or tuning it yourself. Will help you not lean your car out and blow the engine. Oil pressure I think with this car, especially since they have been known to burn oil(I know mine does) should be the first gauge to always get.

Exchanging water temp for oil temp gauge.

Forget to check the stock gauge cluster already has a water temp monitor. LOL.

Thanks for the responses. If anyone has any pics of their gauge setup feel free to post them here.

My DEFI's in my STi. Good stuff on the oil temperature. Crucial to know when oil is up to temp before you start stepping on it.

here is what i do daily: drive my car

here is what i do not daily: tune my car

for what reason would you want to spend money on a wideband as opposed to a water temp gauge? that is of course unless you never drive your car at the track, then you have no reason to move beyond the gauges that come stock. i am going to go out on a limb and think that there are no bolt on parts that are going to cause you to blow your engine, and if you are going to a tuner they already have what they need to get the job done.

i don't need a gauge to tell me that i'm overheating, but i do need a gauge to tell me that i'm getting there. water temp ftw

the s2000 already has a water temp reading in the stock cluster! Did you not notice that when you last drove ur car. I would go with oil temp and oil pressure all the way!!!
Very important readings

If the car is not going to be tuned then no a wideband is not necessary although it is still a nice safety net to have. If your car has been tuned and leaned out, then a wideband is definitely a great idea to have. A wideband will tell you if you are leaning out too much and allow you time to turn off the engine before damage has occured.
If going to get your car tuned, usually they will charge extra if you do not have a wideband as well. So say an extra $60 for that. Thats close to half the price of a wideband and you only have while being tuned.
Oil pressure would definitely be the most important gauge to have by far for the S2000 though.
