Peeked at mine earlier today since I had center console off for another job. Looked fine... Wonder why some seem to not do as good as others??
I've got about 60k miles on mine.

FWIW. I was doing my shifter regrease for the second time (after 11 years/50k miles) and I noticed the foam I replaced back then was starting to disintegrate again

Could you provide the dimensions for all the "letters?"

I know I am getting detailed, but I need all the dimensions to create an accurate template.

Ok, so foam is squishy and not easy to measure. But I believe these are as accurate as can be done (combination of digital calipers and metric steel ruler).

All measurements rounded to nearest mm.

Thanks for posting the template for me to know which measurements to take! Too lazy to figure out how to print it from the previous attachment.

A=139mm
B=119mm
C=49mm
D=178mm
E=120mm
F=55mm
G=17mm
H=30mm
I=20mm

The attachment should be to scale - just print it out.
I modified it a little so that it would be a tight fit.
Yes, I tried it out on mine and it fit very nicely.
I went to Honda and talked to a guy there for quite awhile.
He made some recommendations and pointed me in the
right direction to get "almost" the exact foam Honda used.
Let me know how it goes!

I haven't had one in my car for the last 6 years and I noticed zero difference with/without it.

That being said, its a 25 dollar part that worst case you would have to replace every few years. Not sure its worth the effort to try to rig something up.

I replaced my crumbled, sticky mess of Honda foam 6 years ago with a $2 piece of AC insulation foam (2"x2"x36") from Home Depot. Last winter, I had my console out to wire a subwoofer. The Home Depot (Frost King) foam was in the same condition as when I stuffed it in, 6 years ago. Maybe Honda should have sourced their foam from Frost King!

The concern is if the part remains available. Its likely to be discontinued. Then we'll be forced to rig something up.

We have access to a new, unused version of this part, so we've prepared now for the inevitable time when it can no longer be sourced.

You might want to try this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/27203670432...ntid=102009072

It was a "fluke" place where I got mine from or something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/27110347066...75.c101224.m-1

or this:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Morning-Glory-18-x18-x2-High-Density-Craft-and-Cushion-Foam/44106462?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13= 1605&adid=22222222420449455996&wmlspartner=wmtlabs &wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=501107745824&wl4=aud-1028050746458la-293946777986&wl5=9012940&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl 10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=44106462&wl13=1605&veh= sem_LIA&gclsrc=ds

One last thing I made a template out of wood in the shape of the gasket.
I smashed the foam like a sandwich between the 2 pieces of wood with "C"
clamps and used a very sharp surgical blade to cut it out. It looks like it came
from the manufacturer. Well, almost. The "circle" part I screwed up a little.
