Default Glass rear window?!

Hello all,
I just got a 2001 s2000. The softtop is in 100% perfect condition although the rear plastic window is cloudy and yellowing. I was curious to know how much it costs to upgrade to the glass rear window. I've heard that it's not just the softtop that you change it's the whole convertible motor. And is it even worth upgrading? the softtop is in immaculate condition, only problem is the window ..

or should i invest money into a hardtop.

thanks!

there are a few good products that can turn a cloudy plastic window into like new condition. you might want to give that try before you spend bigger $ on hardtop or glass.

use the search function and you should be able to get all your answers. i never looked into this topic so i cant offer much more help.

Try some Plexus.

If that doesn't work, I think a glass top replacement runs about $700 (???) for parts, and takes several hours in labor.

look for a robins top or go on ebay, I had a friend buy a replacement glass top for $400 on ebay and he had it installed for $150.

why not just fix the plastic before shelling out so much money for a new top? your top other than the window sounds like it's in great condition.

What you can do is use a plastic polish and work it with a PC at a low speed, it'll clear almost right now with some time. Just keep the PC moving. After doing so, use Plexus and you're window will be good as new. Then use some static cling tint to prevent it from happening again.

Total Cost = $30 bucks

You do NOT need a new soft top frame and motors. You can definitely get a top (with a rear glass window) from topsonline that also include the parts and instructions necessary to install it.

u dont need to switch the frame, if u by a glass top from topsonline(like i did im very happy with it) they sell a hardware conversion kit with straps that u use to make the frame fold correctly
