Glasspack/Cherrybombs on an S2?
I'm looking to make a really far out there exhaust for my current track car, I'm looking for a really deep/exotic/agressive tone.
I hate canister exhausts and how they sound/look. Has anyone ever played with cherrybombs/glasspacks or any special resonators for your exhaust systems that you would recommend?

I am
here was my last exhaust setup:

me bouncing the rev (nowhere close to any high rpms)
ap2 exhaust turned into a single exhaust catback, capped off with a custom muffler/tips at the end, it still retains the stock resonator etc.

Stay away from glass-packs, they use 50 year old technology and will give the "S" way to much back pressure. Thats a sure fire way to make less hp.
We did use this race muffler(3 1/2" in and out, it bolted up to the collector) it did not make it quiet at all but it did let the car pass the db limit that the track had. These mufflers offer a 5 - 7 db drop over open collectors and the mufflers flow 850 C.F.M

Have you seen the inside of a glass pack? They are about as straight through as any N1 style muffler, but with fiberglass packing and less of it.

Which muffler flows the best?

The mandrel bending of the pipes done by aftermarket exhaust companies is good for 2-4 hp depending on the severity of the stock bends. Most local exhaust places don't have a mandrel bender so changing the pipes out doesn't do anything if pipe size it not increased.
My opinion, if its more noise and a little more power just add the best flowing stainless muffler to the current system and never do it again. If you increase pipe sizes, then a local shop and only stainless. Don't care about money but want ease and better gains than most local shops can offer with no pipe size increase, and aftermarket exhaust.
NOISE does NOT equal POWER!!!
Which muffler is quietest but makes the most power?

FYI, I just recently purchased the Asura 3" dual exhaust and it sounds unlike any other exhaust I've ever heard for the S2000. It's got a VERY, VERY deep, low rumble at the lower revs, nearly silent at idle, but it absolutely roars once you bring the revs up. All-in-all, it has a very mature sound, and there are many dyno graphs to show its performance-boost, too.
I have a resonated test pipe and a resonator on my T1R exhaust and it sounds deep and quiet with the muffler on. With the muffler unbolted, it has an aggressive glasspack sound. Also, the SRT-4 has a unique exhaust with only resonators and no mufflers and I'm sure you know how they sound- aggressive and poppy. I would suggest maybe a resonated test pipe, and a custom exhaust with two resonators and no muffler.

thanks ROD!
great input, do you happen to have any finished pics of the exhaust?
accepting more suggestions as well!

My old dragster(170" sling shot front engine rail) had the moroso mufflers on it.
I will put one Hooker Aero Chamber muffler on my car to see what it sounds like, if it sounds good then I'll put the other side on, if it sounds like caca then I'll try some other muffler. All I know is if you want your car to sound different than all the others you have to try mufflers that nobody else has tried on the "S".
I have a supercharged 3.8L that has a 3" exhaust that splits in to two 3" Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers and that car has won two trophies for best sounding exhaust on a 3.8L at some car meets that my wife and I go to.
