If i go with a factory hardtop for my 2000, s2000; Can i go topless by simply uncliping and removing the hard top. can you do that with the factory ones. I know i cant keep the softtop also though.

you CAN keep the softtop and you CAN take the hardtop off in about 10 seconds with the help of another person once its installed

But once you got it on you'll never want to take it off.

the soft top just folds back like you normally would going top down and the hard top fits right over it if you get oem hardware. it can easily be taken off, just 4 latches. your going to need another person to help you or if you have a hardtop hoist. and like the other guy said, i have a hardtop and i rarely take it off.

funny, some people at my work thought i had two s2000's 'cause i have the hardtop with my heavy 18s and when i'm top down i have my stock ap1s or my black stock ap1s, they didn't realize that the hardtop just installs over the folded softtop and that i had extra rims.

theres less wind noise, less noise in general coming from outside, such as if you have an exhaust, its toned down a lot compared to the soft top.

Mine seals excellently. I can't say how it is versus the soft-top because I bought it with the HT (the soft is still in there, just ripped). I've never had a desire to take my HT off though and ride with the soft-top lol

just picked up an OEM hartop, with all of the hardware. If you get everything it is supposed to come with ou will get a wiring harness to plug into the defroster and a harness to plug into for a switch to make sure you do not accidently put the top up while the hardtop is on. The top is removed in a matter of seconds once the 4 latch's are released.
