Default Hard top Self Assembled?

Hi Guys. I found this website:
http://www.hondapartscheap.com/parts...rdtop-cr-cr-ac

I see that it sells the OEM hardtop part by part. Has anyone here built it themselves? I am considering this as the OEM hardtop has been discontinued.

I would really like to learn more about your tips.
Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, it would cost more than 8000$ if you tried to buy every piece seperate from the honda part catalog.

I know of someone who had a CR hardtop replaced by insurance that was assembled by the repair shop. The rear window did not look that great, otherwise it seemed fine.

Why on earth would you do this instead of buying a used one that is already painted for less than half the price?

they must of used a ghetto shop to fix it. ive had my oem glass taken off and put back on and it looks oem

if he got the work done by an insurance approved shop, i would complain and have it redone until its done right

I took mine apart a couple of times for painting, not too hard to do. On assembly the important part is getting sealant in the right locations on the side mouldings to make it water tight.

I live in Brunei. There are 10 s2k's none of which have an oem hardtop. I'm looking to buy one from japan. I see some listed on auction sites but I'm finding it hard to find a reshipper that would ship something that large.

Don't be so quick to bash. Unless something is missing here it's certainly not $8k.

OP, wouldn't you still have a hard time getting the hardtop panel and glass since they would be pretty bulky?
