Hardtop Help-Fitment Issues
I recently purchased a used hardtop from a local seller and is having a hard time fitting it correctly. It is a double-sided cf mugen replica. My issue is that the driver side window will hit the top whenever I close the door. I also have a small gap at the middle rear. I have read almost every thread on the forum about hardtop issues and tried all the methods to get it to fit right. No luck so far. I managed to double layer the rear seal and got it to seal good but when I bolt it down tight the driver window would hit the top. When I loosen the bolt, the window clears but the rear gap appears. Everything on the passenger side seems to fit really well. I am using a two piece bracket. Can anyone help me with this issue? Also, the seller stated that it was a Forbbiden top. How can you tell if its Forbidden,RSG,Vis, etc. top? Any help would be great.
Use a few washers or order the shims from honda for the front latches. Stack the washers/shims between the hardtop and the latch while installing the two bolts on the latch. this will move the top up slightly. The more washer/shims the higher it will sit. I recently picked up a forbidden top from a local member and had a similar issue. I think with 3 washer stacked on each bolt (3 total) on the driver side I got the window to stop hitting. I then bought the shims from honda, refit the latch and now its rubbing slightly. I may take it all apart again and just used washers and see what happens. How that was clear, if not i can try to send pics. Good luck!

There is an upper stop adjustment on the window, you need to remove the inner door panel to get to it. You can adjust the glass to stop at a lower spot in it's upward travel. I had to do that on my passenger side when I had an OEM hardtop. I now had an issue with the driver side with my Mugen hardtop, this time I loosened and lowered the door latch striker that is attached to the body to pull the door a bit lower and that seemed to do the trick on the driver side, this might not work for every vehicle though, I just found that my door was hitting the latch so I lowered it and killed two birds with one stone. If that didn't work I would have adjusted the glass stop on the driver side too.

You are right, either adjustment will have an effect on the soft top seal, in my case the adjustment was very small, maybe 1/16th of an inch was all I needed to stop rubbing on the HT. If you need more adjustment than that then the HT is the problem, and it will be hard to solve the issue for both the HT and softop. If you try to raise the adjustment of the HT you will end up with air leaks somewhere else.
I went with the latch adjustment on my driver side because my door was rising upwards the last few millimeters as the door was closing, so I figured my latch was sitting too high. The clearance was fine until the last bit of door closing where it would then move upwards and then rub on the HT. Your door latch might not be too high, and the glass adjustment might be the better way to go for your situation.
To get the latch adjusmtent bolts loose I had to hit it hard for quite a while with an impact wrench, they are super tight and won't budge with only a screwdriver. Before you adjust any latch draw a line around the original setting with a pencil so you can adjust it from there, and if you need to put it back you will know where to set it.

Still doesn't work.Rear still have gap and door still hits top. I think it is a hardtop issue now. Only solution I can come up with is to double layer the rear. Looks really tacky .... 1 inch gap!

i had this issue on my forbidden top, i ended up using a slightly thicker rear seal, i have maybe 1/2inch gap on the rear. i just kept trying different seals until it sat perfect. im also using izzys race brackets
