Heavy/countersunk shiftknobs = more misshifts?
It sounds a bit stupid, but my biggest paranoia is misshifting the car (although I drive MT for more than 10years now).
I would really like to buy an aftermarket shiftknob (moddiction maybe). The thing is that my grip on the shiftknob is very light. It's hard to describe, but when I go from 2nd to 3rd I basically pop the gear out of 2nd, let the "sping assembly" center the knob and push forward to get into 3rd. My question is how well the self-centering works with a heavy shiftknob. Considering my "style", do you think I would run an increased chance of misshifting with a heavy/countersunk knob?
It's a strange question, I know.

i love my CR knob, not as heavy or low as most aftermarket, but feels very precise. might work good for how you shift because of the height and more light weight than alot of aftermarkets
I have moddiction's shift knob. I replaced my voodoo with it. Both shift knobs made me question Honda. It's sad that they crowned their beautiful tranny with the shift knob they designed.
Buy moddiction's and fall in love with shifting all over again.

had voodoo shift knob for 2.5 yrs and I wanted something heavier and I was able to shift a lot smoother with my 605gram shift knob.
Heavy shift knobs doesn't make you misshift, it makes a lot easier to shift the knob effortlessly because of the weight added on to help you shift smoother.
you only misshift when you make a mistake yourself and it happened to me when I had the voodoo or oem leather wrap shift knob.

If you feel your shifts are un-ordanarily soft, a countersunk knob may not be something you would want. The shorter the stick, the more force it takes per laws of physics and levers. Stay with a stock knob at or above OEM height.

I have the Voodoo and it is an excellant mod for the car - Moddication also has a countersunk knob and expect that others would rate it highly as well.
