Does anyone know if the Hella Twin Supertone horns pictured below are significantly louder than the newer AP2 OEM horns? I know many AP1 owners swap their out for these, but my AP2 one is already pretty loud.

I've always heard good things about these Hella units, and I do use my horn somewhat frequently. ~118dB or something is what various other websites say. I tried looking at the http://www.hella.com site for additional information, but their website isn't really intuitive.

Well, for your car it would be perfect. It will definitely be louder and fuller than the AP1 horn. Trust me, I had an 01 myself and not only was it a tiny little Honda, it sounded like one too.

Still curious as to how it compares to the newer AP2 ones though.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I have seen that thread already. It's an install on an AP1. The newer AP2 horns are significantly louder. Even the older AP2s I think have the "wimpy" horn. I want a comparison between newer AP2 vs. Hella Supertone.

 

 

Don't even start..

I used to hate that beeping horn sound on my RSX-S, and I switched it to hella(not sure which model).
I was pleasantly surprised that the AP2s had louder horns.
