Default Hi, Looking for lighting upgrades to LED..

Hi,

I was hoping to find a better LED third tail light, side marker lights, and front and rear lights. I keep coming across companies that have gone out of business, or no longer sell anything for the S. I also would like a flasher unit for the third brake light, and perhaps something different on the other tail lights. I once saw an annoying light that was white led's in a circle that would make someone want to back off. I would only use this for an extreme tailgaiter or someone road raging me. I'm sure there must be a way to combine the function of the reverse lights with a pattern generator.

Thanks for the help,

Eric.

Ok,

I tried their website and couldn't get it to work. They also don't show some items I thought would be obvious. I just PM'd the owner.

Thanks for the help.

There are 3d brake light flashers that easily fit our cars and they might provide a half car length from tailgaters. I'll put our Virginia tailgaters up against anyone's for closeness!

@Birdybog made up several plug-n-play harnesses for the light a coupe of months ago and may have a couple left.

HI,

Oh, that's perfect! Four quick flashes, four slower, and then steady. I pm'd the guy you told me about.

I agree with VA tailgaters. I lived in Chesapeake for a month for work, and felt like I was in a NASCAR race. I also used to live in Maryland, and the Capitol Beltway was the scariest place
to drive a car that I have ever experienced. Do you think the flashing helps to make them back off?

Thanks much,

Eric

Some people will never get it, I suppose. It's worth a try! I heard flashers were mandatory in some countries. I also want it for when you're the last guy sitting
at a light. With such a small car, I feel vulnerable.

Thanks!

The flashing 3d brake light probably makes us more visible -- we're pretty small. Just tapping the brake pedal will activate at least the first part of the sequence. I do it a lot when the last car at a light.

I think the 2006 brake and tail lights are LEDs. I've replaced the backup lights with much brighter LEDs. We back our cars into the garage and I have a humped curb at my house that I need to crawl over or my non-lowered S2000 will scrape and it's hard to see in the dark.

Note the are no "side lights" on the S2000, they're turn signals. I put orange LEDs in there behind my "CR" clear housings. You'll break the housings removing them to replace bulbs so it seemed obvious to me to put LEDs in there when I swapped out the orange housings.

Default hi

I love the backup lights idea, but I ordered new taillights that should be brighter. I also put a clear CR side marker on, and thought the LED I bought was yellow. It's white! I hope I don't get
pulled over before I get some amber ones.

I'm also going to update the front lights, as the brights and DRL's are yellow. They don't help much at all on a dark road.

I think "side markers" is what they call the little extra turn signals in Europe. I go all over the World, and sometimes pick up local lingo. What kind of LED's did you put in them? I think the whole car looks far better with the clear housings. Have you ever thought about a clear third brake light? I'm sure they would be brighter than stock, and might get even more attention from the person behind you.

Thanks!

Eric

Only mentioned the side turn signals as we occasionally get messages here stating they don't come on with the headlights. That's 'cuz they're not markers but signals. The LEDs there may have been part of a kit that included dome and license plate lights. I have LEDs for the front parking lights but it appears I have to remove the entire light housing to install them and I'm not ready for that much work, I have brighter halogens in the high beams. LED headlight beams have improved greatly in the past couple of years so these may get LEDs when they fail. Filament placement of the LED is critical in headlights and only a few seem to have correct placement.
