Red face HKS HIPERMAX III Coilover System

Hey guys, we just recieved our shipment of the HKS HIPERMAX III sport coilover for the Honda S2000. Based on our initial impression, the coilovers looks to be very high in quality. MAXREV.NET will be performing a complete review of these coilovers on the track very soon, and results will be posted in this thread. Comparisons will be made against the KW V3, Bilstein, Various Tein Suspensions.

Please check back for updates, we're excited to test out a new suspension for the AP1/2 chassis!

SPECS:

Spring rate: 13kg/mm front, 11kg/mm rear

The Hipermax III Sport series has firmer spring rates and valving to take advantage of the smoother, more consistent pavement of race tracks allowing quicker, more precise transient response and instant direction changes necessary in competition. In addition, the Hipermax III Sport incorporates HKS' all-new Hiper Linear Piston fluid-channel system, shock-body length adjustability (most applications) and ultra-thick chrome plating of the cylinder shaft for excellent durability and reduced stiction (static friction). Spherical bearings, for precise steering and feedback, are standard - but reinforced, rubber upper mounts are available for those seeking reduced vibration from less-than-smooth pavement.

Will be testing these coilovers @ BW in Aug.

I may do a same day comparison between other coilvoers as well.

Maxrev, do you think these spring rates are stiff enough for R-compounds? They seem to be on the soft side but doable. Are you going to be running R-compounds with these at BW? I am interested in how they perform.

Evasive, it looks as though they are rebound adjustable. Is the damping rate externally adjustable at all?

I like those spring rates, my SRCs are almost unbearable on the streets.

Finally a review! Been waiting forever for one. Depending on the review, maybe I'll sell my mono flexes and get one

I would like to know how they performed on the streets as well. Are compression and rebound adjustable independently?

Danny.
