I didn't see any specs on that oil, so without a virgin oil analysis you don't know what the add pack is.
I know some who mix with a 50/50 mix of Mobil 1 AFE 0w-20 and Mobil 1 Racing 0/50 with very good results.

No matter what, I would not use any oil in my S that I didn't know what the add pack was.

10W40 (or 45) is generally considered too heavy for naturally aspirated S2000 applications. 0,5, or 10W30 is what you want for an NA car. That said, it would probably be fine for a turbo or supercharged setup.

Sounds like HKS might be selling a rebranded oil. I wouldnt use it personally. Stick with a good 10-30w oil like amsoil.

Your mechanic is a lafazanis and he doesnt know what he is talking about. You cant "feel" an oil and tell how good it is. Most oils do well when
they are still in the bottle. Its when they get heat cycled and abused in the engine that they start to break up and degrade. The really good oils dont degrade as much as the not so good ones.

Who is your mechanic btw?

By the sounds of this thread, you'll listen to anyone who has a wrench in a 100 ft radius.

You should dump some redline diff oil in your crankcase, the oil feels of high quality
