Default HKS Y RESONATOR REMOVAL

Anywone try remove y resonator on hks exhaust with test pipe?? Good sound? louder? rattle? thank you for your feedback!!!

I used to have the HKS dual with the rear cylindrical resonator capped off and I had a Megan 60mm test pipe.

Sounded really really nice!!

Removing the helmholtz resonator might change the midrange torque curve a bit with a lowered VTEC engagement, but it would definitely increase drone a ton.

The helmholtz pipe has nothing to do with gases going in n out. Its the sound frequencies that its cancelling out at a specific RPM Range.

sound really good, do you loose power when remove the y resonator?

Don't see why you would lose any power. Removing a possible restriction so if anything would gain a little I would think.

Sound and gas flow are only 2/3 of the equation.
