No doubt about it, get it done as well as the Mugen fan switch and thermostat.
I saw a 10 degree drop in temperature on my ride

Did mine a couple summers ago when I was living in Vegas. Definitely can tell the difference. Do the whole shebang (Fan Switch, Thermostat, Rad Cap, Hondata) to get all the benefits.

I had no bogging from heatsoak after the install......none.

how hard is the install on the IMG? Is the factory gasket paper? in other words, is it going to have to be scraped off the manfiold to get a good seal on the Hondata one?

The manifold is pretty difficult to remove, it will take you 3 hours to remove and reinstall probably, if you have tools and experience with cars. I dont recall what the gasket material is made from. I've had to retorque mine quite a few times since the plastic compresses over time. One of the back nuts is impossible to get anything but a gear wrench on, so it can't be torqued either. Its a half day job but worth it.

Thats nice to know. I have heard the manifold is a pain in the ass. I do have a lil bit of wrench time on Hondas(4 swaps in my own civic and various friends hondas) but never a s2k. Maybe Ill do this sometime a little further down the road. Its only 5 months old i dont wanna break her open! haha!

go to s2000.org..they have a step by step DIY of this..pretty good,a nd worth it...and i agree that when you do this its beter to change the thermostat, fanswitch, rad cap, and may i add a raditaor breather tank--it helps a lot in my opinion and you should locate it in the highest place in the cooling system; it will allow a more efficient way to fill and maintain the coolant system while evacuating any air from the cooling system.) but the hondata img gasket alone will help alone by itself already.
