Default Hondata Reflash for 06-08 models

I am planning on getting my ecu reflashed this winter when my car will be in storage. I have an 06 and my motor is completely stock (except for K&N drop in, might upgrade to FIPK at some point but nothing beyond that).

I was just wondering if anyone has this reflash done on a stock, or close to stock, 2006+ s2000? Was this mod worth the $300? Does the motor make power up to the 8500rpm redline with this mod? Any concerns as far as CELs or anything else?

If I am not mistaken they can make it rev even higher, and also lower the point at which vtec kicks in.

You are correct. Vtec engagement is decreased to 5600rpms and redline is increased to 8500rpms. One of my questions is, will the car make actual power up to 8500rpms, or will it drop off before redline?

only a dyno will tell. in my opinion you should buy the few extra hundred bucks and get the flashpro!!!! you will have ALL the maps they "flash" so you can change this as you mod your car. or even better have it actually tuned by a tuner to get the max hp out of your motor, the flashes run rich to ensure there are no motor failures.

Honestly, the $400 extra for the flashpro, then the $xxx.xx extra for a tune wouldn't be worth it for me. I've had the car about 6 months and still have the same intentions as when I bought it, to only mod it lightly. By this I mean, no headers, exhaust, motor work, etc. The ecu reflash is just for a little extra power.

The fact that the reflash makes the car run rich, will this be a huge problem? I realize that mpg will be slightly effected by this. But other than that, any issue with running a little rich?

Get the Flashpro, you don't have to pay for a tune unless you take it to a tuner, Flashpro has many tunes to choose from and you can reflash anytime you want, I'm running a Toda tune and its incredible, 4100rpm vtec and 8500rpm redline, best purchase I ever made for the S2K. If you ever wanted to sell it you could get most of your money back for it, you'll get nothing back for the reflash.

Def. Go flashpro, you might as well send me the 300 for the reflash. Complete waste of money. Trust me, the flashpro is by far the best money you'll spend on your car. And if you dont like it you can always remove and sell it. Can't do shit with that reflash.

I'd have to vote for the Flashpro as well. I have it along with an K&N Drop in, tp, and exhaust, and driving experience has really changed for the better. There is much more power before and after VTEC (set at 3500 by the way). Even bone-stock, the Flashpro will be beneficial as you can keep close tabs on the motor and tweak it to your liking. Plus, they can be purchased used for added value (that's what I did). Only caution - on 06-07's there is the possibility that you'll have to upgrade your oxygen sensor to a newer unit (known problem).
