Default Hood locks. Do you guys have them?

Hi everyone,
I have my car for a few months now. I love it. Not practical for DD but an awesome car. Anyway, last week I start using two gun locks (the one with cable) for the hood locks. I think they're better than nothing. Over the years, I bought a few handguns so I have a few locks laying around. Does anyone else use anything for hood lock? Anyone interested to see some pictures? I don't know how to post pictures on here. But if someone PM me with his email address, I'll send him the pictures so everyone could see. Thank you.

aerocatch is the manufacturer that TOP secret uses. I bought TS ones for uber $$ and on the side it says aerocatch.

I used to have a lock on my CRX. It was an ignition cut-off and hood lock, cable actuated from the driver's seat.

After a few years I stopped using it all the time.

Eventually the car was stolen (and recovered) -- this was after I had completely stopped bothering to use the lock. So I have no idea whether the lock would have helped prevent the theft.

I guess the point here is that, as with any lock, you are balancing out the PITA factor for a thief versus the PITA factor for yourself.

IMO hood locks arent necessary. 90% of the time theyre just after your seats, although if they have time they will just take the whole car, and either way theyll still find a way to get your engine.

had a hood pin when with the old CF hood, obvious not for security reason but safety

If you're interested in mine I'd sell it to ya. PM me if you are.
good information! i always knew TS had these, but once i saw these and the low price, i figured that they were just another china/taiwan made replica set (obviously i am not familiar w/ the manufacturer). I'll have to pick up a set!

^^why wouldn't it work? it is pretty much made for aftermarket hoods. They are just flush mount or lockable hood pins....just need to make a larger hole in your hood to get these to fit!
