Default How to tell if a momo steering wheel is legit?

We bought a few 350mm momo prototipo steering wheels 11111525211 is on the box. @200$ on Ebay, that runs in range with real unit pricing.

I'm only asking because we checked against the oem steering wheel seems same size (oem is 360mm) or maybe i'm just trippin

I know what you mean , I bought an authentic Momo wheel recently and then I started seeing ones for like a 1/3rd of the price or less. It then dawned on me that hey were replicas, though I would never have expected that with something like a Momo wheel. The ones that come from US distributors are going to be legit, and if the price is around $200 or more. The crazy cheap ones that come from foreign sellers on ebay are going to be fake.

I don't know about size wise, I think 350 mm is about as large as my wheel got - monte carlo wheel. I don't recall if any of their wheels got to 360 mm ? Might just be a measuring error.

There is an excellent video on Youtube showing why certain knock off steering wheels are to be avoided. this one is a Nardi comparison.

Theses knock-off parts are a P.I.T.A. .
Lock for the import company for your country and buy there. Dont try to save money on critical parts.

@zero maybe my perception of the steering wheel is off but it is stated to be 350mm. Put it on top of the oem and did not appear too much smaller if at all. It does have the hand stitching

lol that fake nardi wheel

My cousin tried to pull on his by using his foot to hold it in place and yanking it like an ape with both hands to no avail. So we should be safe there.
We’re aware the critical Safety situation of a steering wheel, at $190 it falls in line with authentic unit pricing.
I don’t think we really saved much on anything other than them ordering/browsing parts on eBay and adding the steering wheel in at the same time.
