Default Hyper Blink - Modfry freebie

Gents,

I have bought some LED turn signals from Jay's s2k. They look great but have the dreaded hyper blink. I thought this would help: http://modifry.com/freebies/old/blinker/index.htm

I have the flasher relay pulled out of the vehicle and it doesn't look like the pictures on modfry website. How should I solve my hyperblink problem? I have and 06 AP2.

Also, my radio has some static with the new LED reverse lights in. Thoughts?

I just did this lastnight actually lol.

I think modifry has the DIY for an AP1

Are you sure you pulled out the correct relay? It should be kind of frustrating to remove because of the clips that hold it in.

Or, just buy one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o02_s00_i00

It is a slightly faster blink than OEM, but not hyperblinking.

Is this one the correct fit and what I need? Ill just do that then the pain of trying to refit every thing.

And yes, it was not pleasant trying to remove this thing. I broke the cover off.

That one will plug and play, yes.

This one should give you a closer to OEM blink rate, but I believe it is slightly bigger than the fuse box so you may have to trim it a bit to fix. I just ordered it so I don't have any first hand experience with it yet:

FYI. I am planning on either making this mod or getting a new relay as well, once I get my LEDs and find out how they behave. I have a MY06 and here's what my relay looks like. Top:

I hate to blindly replace what looks like the shunt wire, without knowing for sure that it plays the same role in this circuit versus an AP1 circuit (or whatever's on the Modifry page.) Has anyone else done this mod to their relay that looks like mine? And it works as expected? It's possible they really are the same circuit, mine has some additional surface mount components on the bottom as you can see, but it's a different relay element (the black box) for sure. It would be nice to see what everyone else's looks like.

I briefly tried searching for the relay and IC components based on the numbers printed on them (for a pinout), but I got very few hits. I'm not sure where this info could be had.

That is the wire. Replace it with the resistor.

Just ordered the CL-34. We will see how it goes. Car has been sitting under a cover the past week because of no turn signals. Just to lazy to the stockers back in. Will report soon.

Just an update, even though I was prepared to do the resistor mod, I couldn't find one of the appropriate rating/size in my pile at home or at my local RadioShack.

On the advice of Joey/JS2K I checked at AutoZone and sure enough they had the EP-34 in stock. $12.99 I think. It works great.
