Default I/H/E/ Test Pipe

Hey I'm pretty much new to S2KI.
Got a couple questions.
My car is stock now.
Just on coils with a lip.
(2004 S2000)
--------------------------------------
First of all, well for now i want to add a Invidia test pipe on a stock exhaust. (AP2 04')
What are some pros and cons of that? Will i make any power? Lose power? Will the sound change?
Like a 70mm on a stock?
--------------------------------------
After that, i was going to do a single exhaust. Is that a better way to go to make more power?
Also i like the single because of the looks. What is the best single to go with?
Or Should i just do a Dual Q300 . Any suggestions?
--------------------------------------
What are some good headers? I heard people say Invidia headers, or Skunk 2 ?
--------------------------------------
And finally for intake, i was just gonna go with a K&N Cold air?
--------------------------------------
Please give me suggestions on this. But for now i just want to do a Test pipe on a stock exhaust , what do you guys think of that?

Thanks!

Already some good threads for that, check out the N/A section:

That being said, start working your mods backwards - i.e. what do you want to end up with and work your way back from that. Single does make a bit more power than a double, but that is usually not much. Go with the exhaust that has the sound and look you want. Once you know what exhaust that is, get the TP or High Flow Cat that matches the pipe sizing. I have a 70mm Invidia TP with my 70mm Invidia Q300 dual.

As for headers, usual answer is that the OEM one is perhaps the best all around. Some good ones out there for alot of money and not necessarily for huge gains. The officials link I put up above will direct you there as well.

Intake is like exhaust as well...think about your end goal and factor in weather. Does it rain alot, alot of standing water? If so, a CAI might not be a good choice (although there are ways to get around hydrolock). The K&N FIPK is probably the best bang for your buck, but the sound an intake makes will ultimately be part of your decision. Again, the officials link I put above will help you research that.

With now that said, take a look at my sig to see what path I went down . Good luck.

What he said. I will chime in on the single. You usually save some weight by going to a single. I have the Berk header back which is very reasonably priced, has great quality, looks good, and since it is a header back no need for the additional cost of the test pipe.

Look for the exhaust thread from Gernby. He has done a ton of research and testing on what works and what is purely bling.
