Default I took the A/C out. And haters hate!

I have been going back and forth as to if I should take the A/C out of my 2007. I finally decided that this is a purist car and I never use the A/C anyways, so out came about 28lbs of A/C gear. I got the belt from hardtopguy and everything went fine. Of course I am keeping all the gear to reinstall when I sell it.
I have to say that I would absolutely do it again. I do notice a different in acceleration. Not too much in handling (back end may feel a bit more planted, but not sure about that yet). I used to hate to fill up the gas tank as the car would feel slow. Now the car, with a full tank, feels as fast as it did on empty (maybe a bit better).
Anyway, if you don't use it, get it outa there!

With the spare and tool out, this should help me get closer to 50/50.

why not just take the belt off and swap it? the components will get moisture so the system may not be good once you decide to put it back. seal up the parts at the least.

I'd like lower weight and a cleaner engine bay, but in sunny SoCal A/C is a must. I think I'd be better off losing 28lbs off my own "front-end"

the A/C runs on a clutch, so its freewheeling when you don't have the system on. You are probably feeling the difference in weight, or its just placebo effect.

I was under the impression that the car had a 50/50 weight ratio front to rear out of the factory?

If you remove weight from the front, you'll have to do the same in the back to maintain 50/50

Ok guys, car is 49/51 from factory. Spare and tools are what.....50lbs? Take those out and I am guessing that puts the car to maybe 51/49. 28lbs off the front will shift it back a bit......maybe 50/50?
Yes I am guessing, but the logic seems right.
