Default Idea to save money on headlight

For those that wanna save some money on our expensive oem headlights because of lens getting stress crackes or fades from sun you can buy ebay oem replica lights for 193 dollars shipped and swap out the lens into your oem housing. I just did it and it fits 100% perfect.. lights it self are absolutely same cant tell the difference at all..every detail on ebay lights is same as our oem. Only projector is different (not look wise but performance wise im sure since s2ks have the best projectors out there) . It looks absolutely same so you can either swap the lens and keep oem housings or if you dont care about performance but want stock look you can just install ebay lights straight up.Buy the light swap out the bulbs and ballast and obviously the lens it self and you have a brand new looking headlights again..Hope this helps to some ppl that wanna save few bucks on headlights instead of spending about $900 on a dealer set.

Few pics of lights installed and compared to ebay and oem:

Left is ebay and right is oem..oem all messed up looking lol
Pass installed
Driver installed
Ebay rep close up

Could have also had them polished, then sealed. I'd seal the new lenses you have with a ceramic coating to keep them clear.

Did you try mounting the replicas? Is the fitment spot-on? I didn't realize there were oem replica headlight housings out there..might consider it instead of buying oem for $700 used

This is very tempting. Considering for my ap1. Has anyone installed these straight up into an ap1? Do you notice any performance difference with the low beam projectors? Anyone know what the swap into an ap1 with these would involve? Any parts needed other than the lights themselves? Ballast?

Well thanks to this thread i purchased a set. Ill try and do a performance comparison to oem and post it up here. Worst case i will simply swap lenses like OP stated.
Thanks

I know people usually buy these then just swap the lenses over. If anyone wants to split a set I need a new drivers side lens

I was just thinking of doing this exact thing when the time comes to replace the lens cover on my factory headlights. I guess the cat is out of the bag!
