Injen 2-piece CAI
Anybody here have had first hand experience with the injen CAI? Sorry to start anoher thread like this but every injen/fujita CAI review is always followed by "I had a friend of a friend that hydrolocked with AEM and since all CAI's are the same...." you get the idea. So lets hear some first hand reviews of the injen 2-piece CAI....positive and negative.
lol,
They are all 2 piece, Biggest diff is usually diameter in piping size and espically the filter itself.
I dont know how so many people hydrolock their motors as they must be driving threw rivers. its not like any puddle of normal size will cause this. THe intake filter is covered from the bottom, side and front, THere isnt a easy way for water to get to it unless you do a hack job install to begin with.
All my n/a cars have always had cai's and over 10 years, never once a issues. Just avoid huge deep puddles and parking in them

when i was n/a i had the injen cai on my car. i usually park in the garage but didn't this one time while it was raining extremely hard. the car sat out there for a couple of hours and when i went to start the car, it wouldn't. i tried once more and no luck.
i got out and started checking things. i shook the intake and heard water sloshing around. the way the injen piping sits is that its got a dip that goes downwards, starting at the filter, then goes back upwards creating a place for water to collect. what had happened was the placement of the filter allowed water that was dripping of off the body to go through the filter and collect in the piping. luckily i didn't run the motor like this and came away with a working engine.

^^ from what you're saying, the drain holes under the hood were not plugged correct?
Also a simple cover over the filter would help so that doesnt happen.
Personally, My S is a bitch and wont see rain
So I could take off all covers around it and never have a worrie
