If you want stockish , HKS is the way to go IMO.
No drone at all on any rev.

Didnt test it with a TP though

All subjective...my 70mm SS Dual Q300 looks to be of great quality, with no issues for the past 3 years. I also have an Invidia 70mm TP matched to it. There is some drone at about 3.5k rpms, but otherwise, sounds pretty good. My wife and daughter like it and they would be the first to tell me if it sounded like crap.

To each his/her own - as long as you like it, screw everyone else!

had the Q300 with test pipe and it was super raspy, Blipping the throttle at a stop made it roar. Has great flow, sounds like a bike at top end. BUt way to loud. I was scared i ould get pulled over. now I have tanabe medallion and it is sex. quiet, deep, no drone, has a kick, doesnt mute my subwoofer.

I get nothing but compliments on my Q300 mated with Berk test pipe and AEM CAI. Love the more aggressive sound, and the test pipe allowed me to improve the midrange power on my car (MY07) with a tune.

Q300 with TP here as well and its fine so not sure whats up with all the haters, but after i added PLM header...it drones much less, its seems to have taken away some of that "deep" sound.

It's interesting how we have such varying opinions of this exhaust.

I've had mine for almost one year. Build quality is great. Welds were perfect, and everything aligned just as it should.

I love the sound of mine. As mentioned by others, just a slight drone at certain RPMs (nothing that bothers me). Sounds mean when at WOT.

I kept the factory cat because there were a number of comments here (and other sites) indicating that a HFC or test pipe would make it sound like ass.

I would never compare it to a cheap civic ricer system; much deeper.

I wonder if there's other factor's at work; ap1 vs. ap2, construction inconstancies, etc.

There are. Invidia tuned this system for the F22 with stock header/cat. Few people realize this. It's a street exhaust meant to occupy the opposite end of the Invidia catalog from the 110dB N1 racing cannons. The Q300 has a bad reputation because it became popular quickly and lots of guys bought it without understanding the intentions Invidia had for this system--a quiet street exhaust for the F22 on an otherwise stock setup.

Everybody else is doing it wrong.
