Default Installed new sidemarkers

Heard Rick's sidemarkers were prone to condensation so I ordered a set of factory CR clears from handa-accessories.com because they were cheaper than HTG. Also came with a spare set of bulbs which was nice.

To the install: at first, the amber markers would hardly budge. Ended up using some dental floss, sliding it behind the light, and tugging for some extra leverage. The rear of the marker eventually popped out but not without the front clip breaking and landing somewhere inside my passenger side fender. Driver side was a little easier and the clip didn't break entirely--it's just cracked a little bit. Luckily the clears come in their own housing with clips intact. I left the bulbs as-is. Hope these don't have a problem with condensation because I don't think I can remove them without breaking the damn things. Much happier with the look though:

Mine popped off very easily without breaking. you are supposed to pull it from one side. the side with the clip i believe on the side closer to the tail of the car.

I didn't have any issues like the OP described.

I slid the amber markers slightly forward, popped out the clips in the rear, and then swapped out the clear bulbs for amber bulbs and popped the clear markers in. Took a total of about 30 seconds per side. Oh yeah - use a clothespin or something to hold the wiring in place just in case you let go. Rick's got a really nice set of instructions on his site for this...and I think everything else he sells, too.

IMHO, the car should've come with clear sidemarkers to begin with.

I've been thinking about doing this but want to try smoked, not clear. It looks as if the only place that has smoked is Ricks and, as the OP said, reviews on his have been mixed. I've also thought about getting the OEM CR and trying to tint them myself. But I don't want them to come off looking half-a**ed. Thoughts?

Oh, to the OP, looks much better.

Clear on silverstone ftw!

I did mine b/c my driver's side one broke and kept falling off and dangling. I have no idea how b/c I never messed with it before. I'm glad it did though.

I've got the Ricks smoked sm's and haven't had any problems. I know some have had problems with condensation, but maybe I got lucky. No problems at all here.

Smoked looks great on SSM
