Default Installing a Forcewerkz CR Lip without Mounting Tabs

Hi,

I ordered a Forcewerkz CR lip but I just found out from the supplier that the lip doesn't come with the mounting tabs. How should I go about installing this lip without damaging my bumper in the long run?

This is where I got it from: JonMotoring

Could putting a thin layer of rubber such as weather strip in between the hardware and the bumper solve the problem? I will definitely shave in a few more 3M tapes to reduce the movement of the lip.

Thanks for the opinion,
Kevin

Are you referring to the mounting tabs that would normally be attached to the face of the bumper? I bought a CR rep lip off ebay, and their were no mounting tabs either. I pretty much just put two screws where the CR lip wraps around the bumper by the wheel well. It was actually pretty sturdy.

This is the painted version of what I ordered. The mounting tabs are the little "teeth" that would wrap underneath the bumper.

I just hope in the long run the hardware that contact directly to the bumper would not damage the bumper. I was thinking I should probably put some weather strips in between. Hopefully that will work.

Btw I really don't know if two screws would secure the CR lip enough lol I hope you put some 3M tapes here and there to limit the movement!

Wow, atleast yours came with the mounting tabs underneath. Mind didn't have anything And yes, just have two screws on both sides held up just fine.

I would definitely recommend putting weather stripping between because my bumper has some marks from the friction over time.

The tabs on the lip "should" line up with the bolts in the splash guards.

In that case I don't think the bolt heads with make contact with the ground. Your lip will scrape more than anything.

Now I am starting to wonder if mine really is a Forcewerkz CR replica lip. On the part sticker it says

"BLF-HS204CR-PU
BLF-HS204CR-PU
Made in Taiwan"

As far as I know, the Forcewerkz CR lip is made in the USA and it comes with mounting tabs. I ordered through Jonmotoring, did he ship me an Ebay knock-off of the knock-off version of the CR lip?
