Default Installing shocks question

Does the 'L' on the shocks represent the passenger side or the driver side?

L would be driver side. Not sure it matters in the rear, only difference on the front is the brake line bracket AFAIK.

L, R are always from the prospective of sitting in the driver's seat

Depends if it is a RH drive or LH drive. Sides are determined as if you are sitting in the seat. Therefore L goes to your left while seated.

and if the car was RHD, L would mean it would be on your Right?

OP: As already stated, L/R is determined from being in the driving position.
