Default Intake

I was just wondering.. there are a lot of different brands of cold air intakes out there I.E(AEMV2, K&N, Injen) and Im looking to buy one for my S2k. Which one is the best for the Honda S2000 with the best sound(not sounding too loud but loud enough)?

i know someone who has an Injen Cold Air in his AP2 and he is obsessed!!!

it sounds pretty good and thinks he can tell the difference.

mostly sound though...!

i have a cold air duct and i believe the stock air box is fine but could do with some cold air.... it sounds good, nice and deep. and gained 3ho.... when in vtech it sounds rude as but not over the top...

its personal preference.

sorry i dont help much but thats just my opinion.... injen is decent!
duct works for me!

^ Best comment on here so far

Honestly, all a CAI is, is a pipe with a filter on it. So it mostly depends on what filter is on it. From all the obvious CAI's (fujita, AEM, K&N, Injen) Will make almost identical gains. Hell, you can even get an ebay CAI with a K&N filter for $100 shipped. Same thing as all the others. Maybe replace the couplers though since the ebay ones rip easily. Some people might disagree with me, but there isnt much to an intake.

With aem v2 some ppl had a decrease in hp with dyno on youtube some did increase but with K&N fipk 2 there's always hp gain in the forum n dynos on youtube. I'm not sure about injen prob get 2-4hp at most same goes for fujita. I would say fujita sounds the meanest although I have the K&N fipk 2.

good luck

We can't tell you which sounds best to you. Does no one in your area have a CAI? That's how I ended up with my Fujita. Had to get one after hearing another.

With tuning, the advantages of a CAI over a SRI start to show. Huge midrange gains are to be had, do to the resonance of the longer pipe.

Also has the advantage of hydrolocking your engine..

^ Yep.

Like I said in the thead in the NA section, your not going to make huge numbers with any intake on the s2000. If your going to spend over a grand on an EMS and tuning just to make your intake give you some good gains, you wasted a ton of money. You could have been over half way to FI and make wayyyy more power than all bolt ons and an EMS. So unless your wanting the intake for just sound, or gain just a couple hp, cool. In my opinion $250 or more for a CAI is a waste of money. Then plus the risk of hydrolocking.
