Default intake snorkels?

has anyone ever hydro locked their engines with a intake snorkel in heavy rain?

your intake oem box is still there with filter.

u can hydrolock a stock intake with enough water. but i ran my snorkel for a year in heavy rain a lot and never had a problem. seems safe to me. just avoid lakes and u should be fine.

You pritty much would have to submerge the filter in water to hydrolock. I drove my Prelude with a CAI in Oregon weather(lots of rain) and had zero problems. I'm thinking about getting a snorkel for my FIPK.

i had the injen cai and drove through maybe 2 or 3 inches of water and it got sucked into the intake manifold and ALMOST hydrolocked the engine so i went with the ARC induction box (i know i know HUGE mistake) so now i have the mugen snorkel...i agree with everyone else...you would have to drive into a lake for water to get into the filter
