Interesting spark plug maybe
[QUOTE=Elistan,Feb 28 2008, 12:22 PM]Once ignited, I don't see how the flame front propogation speed of an air/fuel mixture has anything to do with the wattage of the ignition source?
They claim 1 million watts over a time of 2 billionths of a second.

Hehe, looks like I got my energy/power terms screwed up.
A watt is a joule per second, so it's silly for me to talk about watts per second.
You're correct - the pulsed plug, given their numbers, does release a greater amount of energy. It remains to be shown if their ignition method can extract further energy from the fuel combustion.

I may be oversimplifying this, but what differnece does the amount of spark make?
The spark is simply to ignite the fuel / air mixture, which when it expands makes the power. I don't see how the size or length of time of the spark would make a difference. As soon as there is spark, there is ignition (provided the spark is of a minimum capacity to ignite the mixture).

I read a article in a recent magazine where they tested it on a VQ motor, EVO and a integra. The plugs gained 2-3 HP across the board. They compared brand new plugs to the pulstar. Seems like alot of money for 2-3 Hp but then again we do pay 800 something dollars for intakes.
